The American College of Cardiology’s (ACC) Geriatric Cardiology Section, in collaboration with the American Geriatrics Society (AGS) and National Institute on Aging (NIA), is pleased to sponsor a 1.5-day Research Symposium and Workshop focusing on current knowledge and future research directions related to Pharmacotherapy in Older Adults with Cardiovascular Disorders. The conference will be held on February 6-7, 2017 at ACC’s Heart House in Washington, DC. Immediately following the Workshop there will be a half-day session that will discuss mentoring and research opportunities for residents, fellows, and other early career investigators interested in the intersections between geriatrics and cardiology.
An important objective of this 2-day program is to attract and stimulate early career investigators interested in cardiovascular aging research. Accordingly, ACC is offering up to twelve (12) $1000 Travel Awards to support attendance by qualified trainees and junior investigators.
Eligibility: All individuals currently enrolled in accredited post-graduate training programs in cardiology, geriatrics, pharmacology, and related disciplines within the United States, Puerto Rico, and Canada, as well as individuals who have completed such training no earlier than July 1, 2012 and who currently hold academic appointments at accredited institutions, are eligible to apply. There is no limit to the number of applications from an academic institution. Applications from women and from members of racial and ethnic minority groups are particularly encouraged.

Deadlines: All application materials must be received by no later than Friday, November 18, 2016, for review by the Organizing Committee. Early Career Travel Award winners will be notified by no later than Friday, December 16, 2016.
